FAQ

Questions people ask

Short answers. Details are in the docs.

What is GetFixn?

A shop for API keys to TrueFixR weather and storm data. You buy a key, then build with it: weather apps, dashboards, bots, AI agents. We provide the data, the docs and some working examples.

How does pay as you go work?

You buy a key with a prepaid balance, from $25. Every paid request takes its price off the balance. No subscription, no contract, no monthly minimum. Top up any amount whenever you like. Prices are on the pricing page.

What do calls cost?

ML Storm Forecast by Address and Past Storm Leads by Address are $0.05 per address. Storm History by Address is $0.05 per event line, $10 minimum per report. County forecast status (batch) is $0.05 per location. A hazard score is $0.50 per property. Model-Based Weather by Address and Model-Based Hourly Forecast by Address are $0.0002 per call, and the lean weather response is free.

What happens when my balance hits zero?

Paid requests are declined until you add money. The key and the account stay as they are and nothing is deleted. Free previews keep working. Top up from the account page, or turn on auto top-up if you want it handled for you.

Is auto top-up on by default?

No. It is an opt-in checkbox on the buy page. If you turn it on, we charge your saved card the same amount when the balance drops below $5, at most once every 20 hours.

Is anything free?

Yes. Free previews exist, like a daily county digest, counts and coverage lookups. Address-level records need a balance.

Can I use this for Kalshi bots?

You can use the data as one input to your own model, for example for temperature, rain or snow contracts. We give you Model-Based Weather by Address and Model-Based Hourly Forecast by Address for the places you care about. We do not tell you what to buy. Kalshi is a trademark of its owner, and GetFixn has no partnership with Kalshi or any other market. Follow the rules of the market you trade on.

Is this financial advice?

No. GetFixn sells data. Nothing on this site is investment, trading or financial advice. Forecasts can be wrong, and we make no claims about returns or accuracy. Your strategy and your losses are yours.

Do you take crypto?

Two ways. Agents and bots can pay per call in USDC on the Base network using x402, with no signup and no key. Discovery is at data.truefixr.com/.well-known/x402.json. Buying a key from this site is by card. On-chain payments are final once settled.

What does "reported and radar-detected" mean?

A storm was reported by an observer or picked up by radar near an address. It is not an inspection and it does not prove damage to any property.

Which perils are covered?

Ten forecast perils: tornado, hail, wind, flash flood, heavy rain, winter, ice, coastal surge, hurricane and wildfire. Forecast windows run 24 hours to 10 days, refreshed 4 times a day.

How far back does history go?

To 2003, for 11 peril categories. Coverage is the United States.

Are forecasts accurate?

Forecasts can be wrong. They describe what could happen, not what will. We do not publish accuracy numbers. Test against your own use case before you rely on them.

How do I get my key?

Buy on the buy page. Keys start with tfx_live_ and the full key is shown once. Copy it somewhere safe right then.

I lost my key. Now what?

Use the account page to check your balance, rotate the key or recover access. Rotating makes a new key and retires the old one.

Can I resell the data?

Not as a competing data product, and not by sharing or reselling keys. That is what the terms say. The terms do not spell out every other case, such as showing results inside an app you sell to others. If that is your plan, email us first.

Can I get a refund?

Prepaid balances and charges are final and non-refundable, except where the law says otherwise. On-chain x402 payments cannot be reversed. If something looks wrong, email us.

Is there a rate limit?

The terms allow automated access within reasonable rate limits. We do not publish a number on this site. Scraping our websites is not allowed. If you plan heavy volume, tell us first.
